Atelier des Ors is a French niche perfume house that creates artistic and very memorable fragrances. I have already told you about White Collection Atelier des Ors, the new line of their perfumes, inspired by the epoch of Art Nouveau and works of Gustav Klimt.

Today I’ll review Rose Omeyyade Atelier des Ors, delightful and very tempting oriental perfume, launched in 2015 and created by a perfumer Marie Salamagne.

From the Near East

The name of this perfume is inspired by the ancient Islamic state The Umayyad (Omeyyade) Caliphate, that existed in the 7-8th centuries. This caliphate was ruled by the Umayyad dynasty, and the great city of Damascus was the capital of this state.

There is also a kind of rose, called the Damask Rose, that is commonly used in making perfumes since the ancient times.

In fact, the Near East has played a very important role in the development of perfumery. The process of distillation evolved in the Near East (this process was discovered in the city of Alexandria in Ancient Egypt in the second century A.D.)

From there different incense and aromatic oils first reached Europe.

After the fall of the Roman Empire, the development of perfumery in Europe has stalled. Same can’t be said about the Near East, where making and wearing perfumes wasn’t prohibited.

The fragrances of that time were warm, expressive and saturated. The most popular ingredients were labdanum, Ambra, musk, patchouli, myrrh, and other perfume ingredients.

Today, we all know such a fragrance family as oriental perfumes. These fragrances stand out for their deep, opulent and alluring scent, and Rose Omeyyade Atelier des Ors is one of the most refined and beautiful representatives of this fragrance family.

Perfume Review of Rose Omeyyade Atelier des Ors

Rose Omeyyade opens with a bright and expressive scent of roses, surrounded by the delicious raspberry note that gives this perfume its playful fruity accent.

The note of pink pepper makes the opening of Rose Omeyyade a little spicy and gives this fragrance its unique dry aroma with warm and sweet nuances.

The heart of this beautiful perfume is represented by the impressive trio of patchouli, guaiac wood, and sugar notes.

Patchouli, the faithful friend or rose, gives this perfume its multifaceted earthy aroma with woody and musky accents, while the note of guaiac wood brings to this perfume the depth and gives Rose Omeyyade its rich woody-smoky scent with sweet and floral nuances.

A drop of sugar makes this fragrance very enjoyable and brings to Rose Omeyyade a very pleasant sweetness.

The base of this perfume consists of an expressive and tempting woody accord. Sandalwood makes the sound of this fragrance balsamic and creamy, while the note of Oud gives Rose Omeyyade its evocative and deep woody scent with smoky nuances.

Ambergris adds to this composition its sensual and refined animalic sound with light earthy and sweet accents.

Rose Omeyyade is really very adorable, opulent and elegant oriental perfume with the main theme of magnificent rose. The powerful woody accord of this perfume is beautifully softened by the fruity and sugary notes.

This fragrance envelopes you and creates a very charming aura around you.

Rose Omeyyade Atelier des Ors is the perfume of enjoyment and seduction. Wearing this scent, you don’t want to be in a hurry. This fragrance evokes a desire to live and to joy.

In Rose Omeyyade perfume, the delicate rose petals are covered with the most delicious honey on the most precious wooden plate.

Notes: Pink Pepper, Rose, Raspberry, Patchouli, Sugar, Guaiac Wood, Sandalwood, Agarwood (Oud), Ambergris.

If it were a place, it would be a beautiful villa in a warm place.

If it were a color, it would be soft-burgundy.

If it were one word, it would be an enjoyment.
