Maison Violet is a French perfume house with a long and interesting history. It was founded in the 19th century and then has ceased to exist around 1953. Fortunately, it was not the end of the story of this company.

In 2017, a new chapter in the history of Violet perfumery began. Today I review Tanagra Maison Violet Parfums and tell you a little bit more about this perfume house.

Maison Violet Parfums

Founded in 1827 by Mr. Violet, the Violet perfumery marked the French cosmetics industry. This company held different patents, received many awards and had several shops in Paris. In 1842 Violet officially became a supplier of the Empress Eugenie and Queen Isabella II of Spain.

The bee, the symbol of Empress, was affixed on the perfume bottles and became an important trademark.

In the late 19th century, Maison Violet was one of the largest French perfume houses and was presented in many countries around the world. In the United States, Violet perfumery was presented under the name of Veolay.

Two world wars and crisis weakened the Maison Violet and around 1953 the company stopped any activity in order to re-emerge already in the 21st century.

In 2017, driven by the passion for perfume and history, three friends Victorien, Paul and Anthony decided to restore Violet perfume house. Today we have a chance to enjoy beautiful and modern fragrances, inspired by the eventful past of Violet perfumery.

Perfume Review of Tanagra Maison Violet Parfums

Tanagra perfume opens with the bright floral-woody scent with some juicy and sweet mandarine accents. The note of pear gives this perfume its almost invisible and tender fruity aroma with a light sweetness, while freesia gives Tanagra perfume its refined and delicate floral scent with woody nuances.

The heart of Tanagra perfume is represented by a beautiful and alluring floral bouquet. The note of peony gives this perfume its tender floral scent, while the note of iris make Tanagra perfume deeper and gives its delightful powdery sound.

Jasmine adds to this composition its sensual and heady scent with pleasant sweet tones.

The note of cedarwood gives Tanagra perfume its beautiful and soft woody scent with warm and dry accents. Vetiver adds to this scent its light grassy-smoky sound, while the note of musc makes Tanagra perfume exciting and very attractive.

Tanagra perfume is an ode to purity, tenderness, and sensuality. This fragrance has very beautiful and light scent, that is close to the skin and not too loud. It makes Tanagra perfume a little intimate and therefore very charming.

Elegant and memorable floral-woody perfume with beautiful powdery accents, which cover the skin with a soft invisible veil.

Notes: Mandarin, Pear, Freesia, Peony, Iris, Jasmine, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Musc.

If it were a place, it would be at the seaside early in the morning.

If it were a color, it would be soft gray with light blue.

If it were one word, it would be ethereal.

P.S. It must be noted, that Tanagra perfume is committed and defends women by donating 20% of the profits to the association Solidarité Femmes.
